More than 850,000 Ford vehicles are affected by a recall related to issues with fuel pump pressure that could cause the affected car engines to stall.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued on July 8 the recall, which applies to 28 models produced between 2021-2023. Vehicles were recalled due to a low-pressure fuel pump, which could fail and cause engine stalls while driving.
Ford is the No. 2 dealer of cars in North Carolina according to data company ScrapeHero, with 94 dealerships across 90 of the state’s cities. Here’s what N.C. Ford owners should know about the July Ford recall.
What model Fords are being recalled?
The following models of Ford vehicles are being recalled due to fuel pump issues:
- 2021-2023 Bronco
- 2022 Expedition
- 2021-2023 Explorer
- 2021-2022 F-150
- 2021-2023 F-250 SD
- 2021-2023 F-350 SD
- 2021-2023 F-450 SD
- 2021-2023 F-550 SD
- 2021-2022 Mustang
- 2021-2023 Lincoln Aviator
- 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator
In total, there are 850,318 vehicles potentially affected by this issue.

What should I do if my car is recalled?
A solution is still under development according to the NHTSA. Owners of recalled cars will receive a letter notifying them of the potential risks associated with the recall on July 14. A second letter will be issued once a solution to the issue is available.
