Samsung Galaxy Series

Samsung Galaxy Series features top-of-the-line hardware, versatile multi-camera systems and larger displays. They also include water resistance and fast wired and wireless charging.

The Galaxy S series of flagship phones was updated in 2022 with a new aspect ratio and a foldable design. It now includes a new feature called Samsung DeX which turns your phone into a desktop computer when plugged in.

Galaxy S

Samsung Galaxy smartphones are among the best Android devices available. The flagship Galaxy S series provides advanced features and functionality at a premium price point. These phones deliver instant brand recognition and cutting-edge hardware that’s hard to match at any price.

The first Galaxy S smartphone launched in June 2010 and set a new standard for Android phones. Its sleek design and crystal-clear Super AMOLED display quickly became the series’ most recognizable attributes, as well as one of its biggest selling points.

As the series continued to evolve, it added high-performance processors, better cameras and a more feature-rich TouchWiz user interface. In addition, Galaxy S phones work with wireless charging accessories and offer access to 5G cellular networks for the fastest mobile internet speeds.

In April 2013, the Galaxy S4 introduced the S Health fitness tracking app, allowing users to monitor their physical activity and health through the phone’s built-in pedometer. The S4 also introduced DLNA connectivity, making it easier to link the device with other smart home and entertainment devices like TVs.

The Galaxy S22 series, which debuted in early 2024, refined the design even further. It added glass backs for a sleeker look and a more durable finish, while the frame was flattened to create a more ergonomic grip. It also changed the aspect ratio to a more squared-off form, similar to the Note series, so that it would be easier to use with a stylus and provide a better screen-to-body ratio.

Galaxy A

Samsung Galaxy devices are packed with features that used to be reserved for premium smartphones. From the Galaxy A15 5G and A25 5G to the Galaxy A35 5G tablet, these devices are designed to help you work smarter. Enjoy battery life that powers through your day, a versatile multi-lens camera system and expandable storage for all your files and videos. Keep connected with family and friends with Samsung Wallet, Quick Share, Auto Switch and more. And stay productive from anywhere with lightning-fast 5G connectivity.

Samsung’s Galaxy A series includes starter models and mid-range phones for people who use apps like social media and YouTube, or for a phone that can take good photos and videos. A higher number after the A in a phone model indicates more advanced features, including design customizations. Some Galaxy A phones also include Knox Vault, a hardware security layer that stores personal identification numbers and passwords. Other features include privacy settings that let you choose which applications can access a phone’s camera, microphone and GPS.

All Galaxy A phones run Android 14 (one generation behind the latest version) with Samsung’s One UI software layer atop it. This gives you advanced features like Edge Panels, stackable widgets on the home screen, a pop-up app and Multi Control (which lets you control other Galaxy devices like laptops from a phone). If you plan to capture lots of video and images with your phone’s camera, consider buying a model with 128 GB or more of storage.

Galaxy J

The Galaxy J series was introduced alongside the A series a couple of years ago, to keep Samsung afloat in the lower-mid and budget smartphone categories. The Galaxy J phones feature plastic builds and don’t have premium features like the A smartphones. They’re great for first-time smartphone buyers and users who want a functional device at an affordable price.

Galaxy J devices have a high capacity battery that lets you enjoy more movies, music and mobile gaming. They also have a Smart Manager app that allows you to close unused apps, improve battery and memory performance, delete unused files and run antivirus checks.

With a touch-based fingerprint sensor, you can unlock your Galaxy phone, sign in to your apps and verify online accounts with ease. The Always on Display allows you to see the time, calendar and incoming notifications without opening your Galaxy phone.

The Galaxy J7 (2017) uses Samsung’s standard design language, including the two capacitive controls a physical home button on the front and a band of faux-chrome plastic around the sides and back. It looks a bit more refined than the previous model, with a matte finish on the rear to reduce fingerprint smudges and a sleeker look. It also abandons the faux leather back from the S4 in favour of a sturdy white polycarbonate.

Galaxy Z

The Galaxy Z series is Samsung’s high-end line of foldable smartphones. Also known as the Galaxy Foldables in some markets, they feature innovative designs and cutting-edge mobile technology. The latest models offer more durability than ever before and include zero-gap hinges, advanced processors, and a variety of design features.

Galaxy Z phones are built for self-expression with a range of practical features that effortlessly fit into your daily life. For example, the Flex Window allows you to see and control Widgets on your Cover Screen without unfolding your phone, while the Swipe Gesture makes common functions like rewinding or playing music faster than before.

In addition to providing a new level of functionality, Galaxy AI enhances barrier-free communication. With Interpreter14, you can conveniently view translations on both the main and cover screens, while Live Translate15 translates your voice in real time for more natural conversations.

Samsung offers a range of Galaxy devices to suit different lifestyles and budgets, including the flagship S series that combines cutting-edge hardware with sleek designs, and the A and J series that provide value for money with budget-friendly specifications and features. You can also discover the power of a Galaxy phone with an Ultra moniker, which offers even more memory and processing capabilities for multitasking or gaming.
