Kingston man arrested for child sexually abusive material, using a computer to commit crime

KINGSTON, Mich. (WNEM) – A man from Kingston has been arrested for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force announced 55-year-old Steven Crafard’s arrest on Wednesday, July 9.

Police said they began investigating when they learned Crafard was sharing child sexually abusive material online. The ensuing investigation resulted in digital evidence being taken from his home.

Crafard has been charged with 12 counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and 12 counts of using a computer to commit a crime, police said.

Police said Crafard was arraigned in 71B District Court of Tuscola County on Thursday, July 3.
