Samsung Galaxy M Series Phones

Samsung’s millennial-focused Galaxy M Series smartphones are designed to appeal to those looking for big battery life and reliable performance. They also have a great AMOLED display – a staple for the Galaxy phones and decent cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy M30 aims to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 Pro and other budget offerings in this price segment. It has a nice design, good performance and a powerful 7000mAh battery.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy M Series phones are designed to offer powerful performance and long battery life at an affordable price. They feature a variety of storage configurations to suit your needs, and some models also support expandable memory via microSD cards for added flexibility.

The Galaxy M30 is a solid phone that delivers on its main promise of being a big-battery smartphone that doesn’t compromise on the other important aspects of a mobile device like performance, cameras or even display quality. It delivers on all those fronts with a stunning AMOLED display that will be hard to beat by other phones in this category, decent camera performance and a massive 6000mAh battery that’s sure to please consumers who are looking for a reliable smartphone that will help them get through the day without having to worry about finding a power outlet.

That being said, the Galaxy M31s is a much better version of this phone as it offers a new Infinity-O AMOLED display, faster charging with its bundled charger and the latest Exynos SoC that helps boost the overall performance of the smartphone. It’s a much-improved version of the Galaxy M30 and it’ll be one of the best phones to consider when shopping around in this segment. That being said, the Galaxy M30s will still have to fight it out against phones like the Realme XT, Xiaomi Mi A3 and the Vivo Z1X to become one of the go-to smartphones for buyers in this category.

Design

Samsung has made a strong attempt to tackle Xiaomi and other phones in this price band. The Galaxy M series looks much better than most phones in this segment with its design, battery life and performance. However, its screen is not as punchy as those of other Samsung smartphones in this price range. The lack of a 3.5mm audio jack and Type-C support might turn off some users.

The latest addition to the Galaxy M series, the M51, follows the same design language as other models in the line-up. It is a polycarbonate-bodied smartphone that comes in a few different colours and offers a glossy back.

This is the first time that a Galaxy M Series model features a waterdrop notch. It is also the first time that the series has an ultra-wide rear camera. The new camera setup enables the Galaxy M series to capture more of the scene and offer more flexibility when it comes to framing the shot.

The Galaxy M series targets young audiences with a strong emphasis on battery life and modern functionalities like in-display fingerprint sensors. The affordable price tag makes the phones very appealing to consumers. The phones are backed by Samsung’s huge service network that covers more than 1,650 outlets across India. The Galaxy M series can be purchased through Samsung’s online store and Amazon.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy M53 5G is the latest addition to the M Series and it offers some key improvements over its predecessor. The smartphone comes with a new 108MP main camera sensor, multi-band 5G support and auto data switching. It also offers an improved ultra-wide camera and a massive 6000mAh battery.

The quad-camera setup of the M53 5G does a decent job with daylight shots. The images are detailed and offer good dynamic range. However, there is a little bit of purple fringing visible in certain photos. The night mode performs better with less distortion. The camera can capture fine details and structures like neon lights, statues, and even the structure of the fountain.

The selfie camera is also decent and it can produce good quality shots with a single lens. The front camera can also click detailed portraits and is quick to lock focus. The video recording performance is good but not stellar as the phone can only record 1080p videos at 60fps. It lacks a dedicated HDR mode. Overall, the Galaxy M53 5G is a great option for those who want a budget smartphone with a large display and a big battery. It competes against the Redmi Note 7 Pro and other phones in its price segment. The phone offers excellent value for the money and it’s worth considering if you’re looking for a good-looking smartphone with a large AMOLED display and a solid camera setup.

Battery

Samsung has always been good at ensuring its budget smartphones have good battery life. And the Galaxy M Series is no exception. The Galaxy M53 5G sports a massive 5,000mAh battery that easily lasts a workday with moderate to heavy usage. That includes a couple of phone calls, Wi-Fi streaming, social media apps and light gaming. Our HD video loop test lasted for 14 hours and 29 minutes, and we still had around 30% left at the end of the day.

The other Galaxy M models offer impressive battery life as well. The M10 has a 3,400mAh battery, while the M20 and M30 have a 4,000mAh and 5,000mAh battery respectively. The larger batteries are able to deliver decent battery life, thanks to power-efficient processors and large screens. Samsung also includes fast charging via USB-C in the Galaxy M Series phones, and it is nice to see that the company bundles a 25W charger with the M35 5G model.

Some of the Galaxy M Series models support 5G, which is a big benefit for people who live in areas with good coverage and want to future-proof their devices. The newer M30s are a better option than the older model in this regard, as they have a bigger 6,000mAh battery and a more efficient Exynos 9611 octa-core processor. These phones are likely to be more expensive than their 4G counterparts, however.
