Troopers rescue Ky. family after child calls for help on 911-only phone

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A Kentucky man is accused of holding his family against their will.

According to a press release, Kentucky State Police troopers rescued multiple victims from a domestic violence situation in Laurel County on Wednesday afternoon.

KSP says the incident began a little after 1 p.m. when a juvenile used a 911-only phone to call for help.

Troopers responded to a home on TIB Drive, where they were unable to make contact with anyone inside.

We’re told troopers then made forcible entry and found 36-year-old Brandon L. Lunsford of Corbin holding his spouse and children against their will in an attempt to avoid arrest.

The victims were safely removed from the home, and Lunsford was taken into custody without further incident.

Lunsford is facing multiple charges, including one count of assault, three counts of unlawful imprisonment, and one count of strangulation.

The investigation is ongoing.
